I think the idea of incorporating technology and data into design is very forward thinking and exciting! To be frank though, I think that the Marchesa designers (typically very fantastic designers) somewhat dropped the ball aesthetically with this design. When it comes to emerging technology and fashion, I have seen other designers do the same thing. I think that this happens because they get so wrapped up in the technology that the fashion becomes a second thought and design gets lost in translation. To me, the technology and process involved in creating this piece is way more interesting than the final design.

viewing her body of work for me is almost like viewing various Picasso art that were all created utilizing different medium.  To be fair, perhaps this particular design WAS more about the technology involved. Perhaps it was just a simple beta test to gage how it could be used going forward. Never-the-less, I am so happy that the world of fashion in the US is beginning to become more experimental.
